Meditation has been an incomplete item on several of my past New Years Resolution lists. If you’re like me and struggled to sit down a get quiet, listening to guided meditations may be a great to get started. There’s a great app that a friend recommended to me, it’s called Insight Timer.
Insight Timer is awesome AND free. There are endless free guided meditation options; everything from Yoga Nidra to envisioning your ideal life. There is also a timer option if you want to meditate to a peaceful or ambient sound.
You can pay to access premium classes and features, however if that’s not in your budget, the free version offers a lot, including an online community of other meditators.
I read that praying is how you speak to God, and meditating is how you listen. My mind tends to wander, so listening to guided meditations helps keep my focused. I simply search for what I need help with, or a certain feeling I want to achieve, (e.g. sleep, goal setting, self-esteem, etc). There are also filter options so you can narrow down your results, say by the time you have to meditate. As a beginner, I found it very easy and enjoyable to meditate to guided meditation.
Meditation helps me feel more peaceful, grounded, happy and centered.
I hope you give it a try. If you do, or have other meditation resources you’d like to share, please leave a comment below!
I am so grateful for my friend recommending this wonderful free resource. My wish for this post is to help others gain access to this gift.
This is awesome. Thank you, Ashley.
