I love supporting local and natural products, and that includes my skincare products. I use natural beauty products but sometimes have a hard time finding a great, affordable product. There seems to be more options (e.g. Honest Beauty) in the U.S.
Deodorant
One natural, Canadian product that I love is Routine deodorant. It is made in Calgary, Alberta. I tried a few scents refilling a glass jar at a local Zero-Waste store, and decided I liked the unscented (though it still has a mild vanilla/oatmeal-y scent) Bonnie n Clyde. If you’ve never used a deodorant from a jar, here’s a great instructional video from Routine:
Mascara

Pure Anada mascara has the natural look that I love, it defines my lashes with no clumps. It’s water-resistant and didn’t smudge at all when I went swimming!
And all the other good stuff too: made in Canada, natural ingredients, free of: Mercury, Gluten, Parabens.
Ecocert approved ingredients, Hypoallergenic (safe for sensitive eyes) and pH balanced.
Canadian-Made
“It’s estimated that only 5% of makeup brands actually have a hand in making their own product. The rest rely on third party, contract manufacturing companies to produce their line. Since the cosmetic industry isn’t well-regulated, there is room for dishonesty in labelling, and green-washing. Our products are made in our own, certified organic lab and manufacturing facility in Morden, Manitoba. Aside from a few products (nail polish and pencils), we have the benefit of being in control of our formulations, ingredients and processes.”
